THREE FEATHER DRY FLY
Hook : Daiichi 1180 # 14 - 18
Thread : Uni-Thread 8/0 Yellow
Tail / Extended Body : Dryfly Hackle Cream
Wing : Cut Wing Saddle Hackle
Body : Dryfly Dubbing Sulphur Orange
Hackle : Dryfly Hackle Cream

Fly Tier: Rick Harrington

Tying Instruction :

1) Tie on thread near hook bend.
2) Prepare a dryfly hackle for the extended body by cutting the tip off the feather. Leaving a few hackles on either side for tails stroke back the hackle fibers along the hackle stem. Now add a little piobond glue to the hackle and stroke them again, this will form a nice extended body.
3) Tie the extended body near the hook bend and wrap forward to mid shank.
4) Tie on two cut (or burnt) wings made from saddle or soft hackle. Wrap the base of the wings to form a wing post.
5) Dub yellow dubbing to the base of the wing.
6) Tie on a cream dryfly hackle to be wrapped as parachute style.
7) Dub the remainder of the body to the hook eye.
8) Wrap the wing post with the hackle counter clockwise and tie off at the hook eye.
9) Make a small neat head and whip finish.

Note :

This fly is esthetically pleasing and belongs in everyone's fly box. It's also a killer during the sulfurs!

I was born in the Pacific Northwest into a large, close-knit family of wiseasses. My Uncle David (who bears a remarkable semblance to my friend Cooper, the purveyor of this site) started me fishing at five or six, and I became a fly tyer after seeing an Orvis catalog at the neighbors around the

age of nine. I spent more time fishing than studying in college, and have paid for it ever since by pursuing a career in art.
